Web Design

By far the cornerstone of our business, WIDS is committed to portraying our clients' business professionally on the Web. Unlike many other design shops, each site is custom designed to fit the customer's needs. Each site is tailored to the customer's look and feel. If our clients aren't quite sure what they want, we provide several alternatives to begin the process of a design. WIDS is very proud of its portfolio, but our clients say it best.

Database Integration and Programming

These days it's all about having a site that can dynamically change by feeding it information. Our programmers can create just this type of site for your company. Whether it's the latest news for the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers' Club , or Thoroughbred Daily News' Progeny PPs [dynamically generating over 6,000 pages a day for that project alone], we can program a database solution for you.

Languages Spoken...

Having a vast array of programming experience is key to this business. We have practical programming experience in several technologies, so unlike some shops, we are not tied down in what we can work on. While a vast majority of our projects are programmed in Coldfusion with MSSQL, WIDS programmers also have experience working with: ASP, .NET/ASP.NET, Basic HTML, dHTML, CSS, XML, WEP, SOAP, MSSQL, MySQL, Access, Perl, CGI, Actionscript, Front Page, C#, PHP and Javascript among others. Other technologies include Apache, Unix, Linux, IIS and all Windows-based systems.

We use industry-leading programs like Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver to create our sites, but also use other programs when the need arises. We can create Microsoft Excel templates and Adobe PDFs, layout print design in Quark, and manipulate and create just about any graphic necessary using Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash.

In short, if it is used somewhere on the web, we can program it.

STAFFTools

In what is probably our most important and innovative website tool that we program lies the ability for our customers to make updates to their site without having to wait for a programmer, or to be in any specific location. WIDS STAFFTools allow users to dynamically update specific content on their website without having to know any programming languages whatsoever. Updates can be done from any location with a web connection, and in today's connected world - that is quickly becoming anywhere in the world at any time.

Users simply go to a special location on their website, login and type the content changes that they want. We've used it for everyday things like updating farm news, to more advanced tasks of automatically generating dynamic information from one site and delivering it to several others with site specific changes - all with one click of the mouse. The entire Thoroughbred Daily News site is run from STAFFTools with almost no day-to-day intervention by WIDS.

STAFFTools mean an end to web maintenance costs for simple tasks that usually nickle-and-dime away budgets. STAFFTools means an end to having to wait until the webguy can get to that next week. Site Management

Some clients have sites with designs they are already happy with, but just need someone to maintain it. WIDS has taken on that capacity in several instances. From maintaining information pages, to updating certain sections of look and feel, we can manage your existing site to your specifications. Then, when you are ready to perform a major overhaul, WIDS can help accomplish that too!

Web Hosting

WIDS maintains its own web presence using a number of hosting services. While we maintain our own Windows-based colocated servers, we sometimes find the need for other types of Web hosting and can work with you to find the right solution for your company, not just any solution.

WIDS maintains relationships with a number of vendors so that we can host sites using Apache, IIS or Front Page. We have as much available bandwidth as your company needs and can provide solutions for large sites, small sites, VPNs, streaming video and secure user areas.

Network Administration

WIDS can provide network administration in your home, on your farm or at the office. With backgrounds in several different networking technologies including Windows and Novell, we can setup and administer a wide variety of models.

Computer Maintenance

WIDS knows that sometimes the problem is not just the site, but the machine it is viewed on. Many of our customers don't know where to turn when a problem arises with a machine in the office, or on the laptop at home. We've worked with computers and programs for close to 25 years, so we've seen just about anything that can go wrong, and can either fix it - or if necessary replace it - in a reasonable and cost-conscious manner.
